It is hard to believe that it is nearly November already! Parent-teacher conferences are just around the corner on December 1st & 2nd. Teachers are looking forward to the opportunity to meet with parents and work collaboratively to maximize your child’s success in school. Partnering with your child’s teacher can help your child have a more positive outlook on school, and provide the teacher with valuable insight to personalize instruction for your child. Parent-teacher conference schedules will be posted in the office lobby November 13th-19th. If you are unable to make it in to sign up, please call the school office to arrange a time you can meet with your child’s teacher.
Our students have been working hard at meeting our schoolwide ROAR expectations. In fact, so many classrooms filled their Tiger Paw buckets that we completed our first path to success. In celebration, on the 17th each student received a Tiger T-shirt! We like to show our school spirit by wearing T-shirts on Fridays, and this ensures that all students have a Tiger shirt to wear. We would not be able to provide this for our students without help from you; thank you so much for supporting our cookie dough fundraising efforts!
Next month, the PTO is sponsoring the Missoula Children’s Theater performance of Red Riding Hood. Students in grades K-12 may audition. Auditions will be held on Monday, November 17th. with rehearsals taking place throughout the week. The final performance is scheduled for Saturday, November 22nd. More detailed information is included in this newsletter.
Our Second Step schoolwide theme this month is Skills for Learning: listening, focusing attention, using self-talk to stay on-task, and being assertive when asking for help with a learning task. In our morning announcements and school assemblies, we’ll be reminding students of these skills, which help students be successful learners.

¡Es difícil de creer que ya casi es noviembre! Las conferencias de padres y maestros, están a la vuelta de la esquina, serán los días 1 y 2 de diciembre. Los maestros esperan con ansias la oportunidad de reunirse con los padres y trabajar en colaboración para maximizar el éxito escolar de sus hijos. Colaborar con el maestro de su hijo puede ayudarlo a tener una perspectiva más positiva de la escuela y brindarle información valiosa para personalizar la instrucción. Los horarios de las conferencias padres y maestros se publicarán en el vestíbulo de la oficina del 13 al 19 de noviembre. Si no puede ir físicamente a la escuela a programar su cita, llame a las secretarías y ellas le pueden ayudar a programar la cita con el maestro de su hijo/a.
Nuestros estudiantes se han esforzado mucho para cumplir con las expectativas de ROAR a nivel escolar. De hecho, tantas aulas llenaron sus botecitos Pastas de Tigre que completamos nuestro primer camino al éxito. Para celebrarlo, ¡la semana pasada cada estudiante recibió una playera de Tigre! lo que garantiza que todos los estudiantes tengan una playera Tigre. Nos gusta demostrar nuestro espíritu escolar usando playeras de Tigre los viernes. No podríamos brindarles esto a nuestros estudiantes sin la ayuda de ustedes; ¡muchas gracias por apoyar nuestra recaudación de fondos con masa para galletas!
El próximo mes, el PTO patrocinará el Teatro Infantil Missoula con la obra de Caperucita Roja.
Los estudiantes de los grados K-12 pueden hacer una audición. Las audiciones se llevarán a cabo el lunes 17 de noviembre; con ensayos que se llevarán a cabo durante toda la semana. La actuación final está prevista para el sábado 22 de noviembre. Información más detallada se incluye en este boletín.
El tema escolar de este mes, para toda la escuela,en nuestro Segundo paso es Habilidades para el Aprendizaje: escuchar, enfocar la atención, usar el diálogo interno para concentrarse y ser asertivo al pedir ayuda con una tarea de aprendizaje. En nuestros anuncios matutinos y asambleas escolares, recordaremos a los estudiantes estas habilidades, que les ayudan a ser estudiantes exitosos.
